A friend and a lake...

Went out to the local park on the lake to shoot with a friend of mine. Brought my YongNuo 460ii speedlight and YongNuo CTR-301p "Poverty Wizard" triggers. Diffused the speedlight, went from 1/2 to 3/4 power depending on light. Strobist info in description of pics on Flickr. I also got to experiment with some editing techniques I've been reading about.

Lighting on the last two is very nice and they are very good portraits IMO. She looks like an interesting character...pretty nice looking too...

The first one...not great. Looks too greenish and half of her face/neck is washed out. All the rest...great shots. And yeah, she DOES look like an interesting character. :) Nice job, Will.

Thanks for the compliments and crits. I feel the same way and I think the last one is the strongest of the group. I could've brought out her face in post a little more. I might try a re-edit on that but we'll see. She is an interesting person, also pretty funny and kept the atmosphere light and fun throughout the shoot. Definitely going to give her a call for more shoots if she's game.

Thanks again, keep the input coming!

She seems to have a natural smile that comes easy. One of the things I don't like about photographing people is fake smiles, kills the mood. She is definitely a nice subject and seems to be having fun.
