Lucky guy that I am, this beautiful young woman agreed to another photo shoot a couple weeks ago.

You may remember Isabelle, who posed with my other photographic Muse Pearl, from Return to the Salton Sea, Models in Tow but this time Isabelle was on her own.

Shooting portraits is a lot more difficult than I had ever imagined so you're all going to have bear with me as I learn. Here are some of the better shots of Miss Isabelle and this time, my favorite bantam-weight bad-ass brought along her stand-up bass...

Shots look great to me! Her expressions look natural and comfortable ... I'm still stuck on getting the subject comfortable with the idea that I'm shooting portraits. :)

Love 'em all except #4, really... something just not settling with me on that one, I think it's the eyes. The rest are top notch, but I especially like 1,2 and 5. As for that last shot, nice... bass. LOL, sure does make her look extra petite!

I too struggle with posing people who are not used to being photographed "with intent" (as I call it, since I'm not a professional) but I love trying. I never thought I'd get into doing portraiture but shoots outdoors with models is just freaking amazing. No, it doesn't hurt that Isabelle is not exactly hard to look at but I'm finding I'll photo-shoot just about anyone who's willing to stand still long enough.

Thank you... I see what you mean about her eye's in shot #4 and I'm back and forth on it myself; sometimes it looks sultry, sometimes it just looks goofy. We were *going* for sultry, by the way and when she "turns it on", let me tell you... It comes right through the viewfinder like a sucker-punch. If I didn't capture it there, it's certainly the fault of her photographer.

As for #5, I think that may be my favorite of the whole shoot. Maybe... There are some other really good shots from this session that I didn't post but that one is definitely, "a contenduh".

And the walkaway shot... Heh... Yeah. It's our job to make the clients look good, right? And I do so love a walk-away shot.
