First shot is on the banks of the Zambezi river. Taken in Namibia and the other side is Zambia. Sadie is proudly holding fish cakes made from a tiger fish she caught that day.

The next one is from our front steps. We where chatting outside and I liked the setting so I grabbed my camera.
Nikon D3000 with 17-55 lens. Edited in gimp as the houses shadow cast a greyness over the picture.

The second photo is very good, despite of having the depth of field kinda wider than it is needed (so that the background gets "in the way" a little bit). You can blur it with the tools such as found in Photoshop and Gimp. Nice photo, anyway.
The first one could be blurred too (background, starting with those branches on the upper left) and the horizon could be rectified (elevated) counterclockwise, for about 2 degrees (we don't want to spill out that beautiful river;)).

For example::

What a gorgeous looking lady!

The first image, I think she is a little to dark in the face. Specially the right side. But I like the composition :)

The second is very good, I think it fits the image that you are able to see she is surrounded by small flowers. The pose and her expression seems very natural, the colors are great, the sharpness too. Well done!

Wow, those are some coo editing tricks. I can only fiddle with the color curves and insert my Sig.
Thanks for the complements and suggestions. I'm going to give it a go!

I agree with Mai (wud). Maybe relax the framing as well, so basically dont crop it so tight or frame it so tight. Just a little more on the boarders for my taste.
