Indoor People Shots

Hi, I am taking some random and staged indoor people shots of a local MP and others tomorrow and I am undecided whether to go for Auto, Aperture Priority, Scene Mode with Indoor/Party or Scene Portrait mode, I will be using a D7000, 18-105 Lens and SB-400 Speed-light, I really want them to come out as best as possible, can anyone give me some last minute advice??

I'd say aperture priority so you can shoot wide open and then control the aperture. Also are you going to use some kind of diffuser on the flash or bounce it? I use this setup:

Hi,

Check out this very instructive link about speedlights/etc.

I am not familiar with the sb-400.
If it is TTL capable. I would shoot in aperature priority.
If the flash head doesn't articulate for bouncing the light. I would look at a flash bender. Or make some flagging.

Unless you are skilled in shooting manual this is not the time to start. Manual is one good way to shoot good photos but you need to start on something that is not important and learn how to get good results.

It was a joke to be honest, and I see the poster said tomorrow which it is now and has not sought anymore information or asked any more questions.
