Screw drive motor

I don't have an issue but curious on the following scenario. Should the motor fail on a body that screw drives the older lenses, am I correct in thinking it will have no other impact on the camera functions eg. the newer AF-S will still focus ok?
The reason for asking is that my recent acquired macro lens requires the srew drive function, although I do use manual focus on macro shots a lot therefore it will hopefully not be an issue inn the future.

It should work fine...assuming the motor is the only issue... In autofocus mode, the motor's only function is to adjust the focus and doesn't when in Manual mode... Everything else should be fine.

Most screw-type autofocus lenses have the manual focus ring physically locked to the autofocus drive when AF is turned on. So you would be unable to turn the focus ring until the AF is turned off. There may be some expensive lenses that have a manual-override feature. But that is the only thing I have learned using screw-drive lenses.
