Hi guys , I want to upgrade to an 850 , I now have 750 , 7100 , tamron 24-70 g2 , tamron 70-200 g2 , Nikon 24-120f4, Nikon 18-105 Dx , 35mm Dx , tokina 11-16 Dx , sigma 17-50 Dx
some things have to go . Opinions of what you would keep will be appreciated, I do landscapes , grandchildren inside and out
and general stuff like hols and days out with the wife , also have an interest in speedlight portraits but not having much success but enjoy the challenge.
my thoughts are to keep 7100 and the Tammies and the rest go towards bringing cost down
thanx

With the D850 you could easily ditch both cameras and all the dx lenses. I bet after you start shooting with the D850 you won't reach for the others anyway. When I got the D500, my D7200 just gathers dust...
Congrats on the new camera...nice discount on it right now!

I have an 850 and a couple DXs (fit the wife better than "big" cameras).
For casual snaps I like my Fuji X Pro2, when I'm serious the 850.
Biggest con to the 850 are 2 - it's huge in comparison and I'm never satisfied with Nikon's Shadow adjustment (can't recall the correct nomenclature ).

Thanx for opinions , yes Peter had thought of keeping 11-16 but I can get good trade in price and 24mm would be ok for what I do with landscapes but thank you for your thoughts .

My thought is ditch the DX format body and lenses and only have FX ecosystem lenses that you can more readily share between the bodies. I have D750 and a D7000 myself and I find the bodies are nearly equal in heft and layout, so D750 is reasonable for use as a lighter weight package. I would strongly consider adding in a 50mm f/1.8G to replace that 35mm DX. A down-the-line plan would be to add in a 20mm prime. Nikon f/1.8 or Sigma Art f/1.4 for a wider angle.

My personal path to my D750 was to trade-in a D80 body and about half of my accumulated DX lenses. I kept a 2nd beat-up D80 body to convert to infrared (and it has since failed) with a 18-55mm kit lens. I also kept the former primary body D7000 and 2 DX lenses for that. I will likely have the D7000 converted when I decide to get another FX body and reduce to a single DX lens at that point for IR work. And the FX lenses on a DX body are almost always a better plan than DX lenses on a FX body.

I would get rid of all the DX lenses and hold on to the Nikon FX and the two Tamron G2 lenses. AND just to mix things up a bit, given the kind of photos you take, I would get a Z6II or Z7II with the FTZ adapter.

I was headed to an 850 and ended up with a Z6. just something to think about.
