D610 Live View and Tamron VC

Hi All,

I just bought a d610 and Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 G1 version. Had this exact setup last year sold it and decided to buy back into this system again because of the great quality you get for the price. Everything seems to be working fine although, when in Live View, the lenses VC doesn't seem to engage. I can't remember if it used to work with the my original set up so I'm wondering whether anybody can shed some light if VC does or does not work during Live View. Thanks.

VC MODE 1 is the standard mode that strikes a great balance between the stability of the viewfinder image and the stabilization effects. VC MODE 2 is exclusively used for panning. VC MODE 3 prioritizes the stabilization of the captured images and forgoes the stabilization of the viewfinder image.

Sounds like, depending on mode, their VC might not stabilize the view finder image.. ???

Hi Fred, Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure about the above modes. This lens has ever had one mode and it's either on or off. It might be the cameras settings or maybe this lens could never really engage VC while in Live View and I'd forgotten. Hopefully I'll find out sooner or later. These are some of the drawbacks with older systems.

You should email Tamron and ask. Possibly the lens requires a firmware update? But Tamron should know for sure.
