Advice on D850

I'm currently shooting with the D750 and I'm considering jumping up to the D850. Hoping I can get some advice from experts, if it's necessary for me to take this jump and if it's worth the extra money? I know the 45 magapixels is amazing, but is there any thing more I need to know/be aware of? I know this is kind of a broad question, my apologies. I want to get more serious about printing my work. Two other quick questions....I want to try to more landscape/watetfall shots. Can someone give me advice on a good wide angle? Nifty-fifty?? I also want to get into Eagles and some wildlife. Any help with a long zoom lens? I've tried with my 70-200mm but have struggled to get eagle pics . Anyway hope I didn't drag this out too long. Thanks soo much in advance for any help. Good day, Shawn Cooper

While I am not an expert I did switch from a D750 to a D850. If you would like me to subjectively expound on my personal-use experience I'm happy to do so but will need some time to compose a thorough answer; the switch, in all honesty, was maybe a little bit more than I was prepared for.

I was in the same place you are about a year ago and I was set on the 850. I like landscapes and some birds and wildlife photos. I have two good lenses the 14-24 f2.8 for wide angle and the 200-500 f 5.6 Nikon lenses. The thing that drew me to the 850 was the new tech that included focus stacking and a better focus system than the 750. I was not as drawn to the big files. I think it is a great camera. But I jumped ship at the last minute and went mirrorless choosing the Z6.

I still like the 850 It is a great camera and it is a great all around camera. It can do wildlife and landscapes. I love the focus stacking that the Z6 can do and that is the same thing that is available on the 850. I think it is a good jump from the 750 and do not think you would be disappointed. I know that there are several here that have them. They will be able to give you more detail than I can. I can only tell you what started me on the quest... I wish you well.

The focus stacking would be nice for landscapes. As far as a long lens for birds, many on here like the Nikon 200-500mm, Tamron 150-600mm and the Sigma 150-600mm. For wide angle the Nikon 14-24mm 2.8 is a great lens but requires special filters due to its bulbous front element. The Tamron 15-30mm 2.8 gets great reviews. I use a 24-120mm f/4 for a lot of my landscapes and most of my waterfall shots.
