How to get EXIF data to display in forum?

Please forgive the newbie question. I tried searching for EXIF and got 40 pages of results.

When I post a picture on the forum, I do not see the display of EXIF information for my photo that appears with seemingly everybody else's photos. What am I missing or doing wrong?

TIA

First guess is that the Exif data is not still in the image file.

Adobe offers two ways to save a JPG...

File - Save For Web, which strips away all Exif data.

File - Save As - JPG, which leaves the basic Exif data in the copy. In Adobe, this way will be necessary if you want it to remain.

The exif data is sometimes removed by software when you process and save your images. It would be helpful if we knew which of the post processing software you are using to process and compress your images for this forum. We probably could help a bit more then.

But it's a bit weird since I can see the exif from photos in your gallery... Were these processed with the same software you use to post pictures in forum posts?

I went and looked at your post in "post your raptor" thread page 24 and in a post where you have 3 images, I see the exif on the third one but not the first two... I wonder if it could be how you attach the pictures to your posts. Are you using the Gallery link to the image... I don't know but there is something.

I can pull down images you've posted here and find the EXIF data so the data *IS* there.

Make sure the images you want to post have been re-sized to 1,000 pixels on the long edge, or less, and see if that does the trick.

Thanks for all the quick responses.

I have several things now to try. At this point I know less about Lightroom, to which I just subscribed, than I do about my D750. So I guess I need to spend some time with the program and training tutorials/books. Some of my images came through Lightroom and some were imported from the SD card and exported from the Photos Lib on my Mac and resized, but not to 1,000 pixels. I have uploaded my images to the Gallery and then selected them for the post.

When I figure out what I am doing, I will re-post the images.

Thanks again,

Dennis
