Anyone know how to get the shutter count for the Nikon D5300?

I've tried camera shutter count, my shutter count, Nikon shutter count, and shuttercounter.com and came up flat each time. I downloaded numerous programs like PhotoMe, OpanadaIexif, and a couple other EXIF programs, also Flikr, and again, no dice. None offered the shutter count for the Nikon D5300.

To clarify -- when I posted pics from my Nikon D5100 in the above sites and programs, I got the shutter count info and all the of the EXIF data. However, when I posted pics from the D5300, while I did get all sorts of EXIF info, I did not get the "total number of shutter releases for camera" entry itself like I did with the Nikon D5100.

Do any of you have the Nikon D5300? How did you find the shutter count?

I sent a pic to Nikon and asked for the shutter count. They'll probably get back to me in a week or so.

In the meantime, I'd love some help! I've run out of ideas. I've googled the problem and it seems I am not alone in the D5300 shutter count issue. Sadly, the people who have been trying to help do not have the Nikon D5300.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Unfortunately, that shutter count site works the same way as the others i.e., it provides all sorts of information about the picture except for the D5300 shutter count.

Incidentally, the Freidl site, like the others, did provide the shutter count for the d5100.

Upload your last image to Camera Shutter Count and you will get your count. Here is an example:

The Jeffery version says it is powered by Phil Harveys Exiftool (which is absolutely excellent), but my guess is that it must not keep up with the latest revisions. I'd go direct to the source, the latest Exiftool is April 11, 2015.

There is a little to it however, and in reference to it, I'd suggest starting here: Camera Exif data

I have a D5300 and haven't had any problem reading shutter count. I checked all the cameras after a thread awhile back on shutter count expectations with new camera bodies.

I have used Harvey's exif program for my D5300 and it works fine. No problem. I have used a couple of others that are online (camerashuttercount for one) without any problems for the 5300. Uploaded a photo and there was all of the information.

Download Irfanview, go to image information, then exif info. It will say "Total Pictures". You can send me a pm with a link to the photo or you can send it to me through email if you want. I can check for you.

I have not had any luck with Irfanview vs 4.38 for Windows. I have looked on various occasions and there is not a listing in the Exif data for Total Pictures when I check my 5300.
Everything else is there, but not the Total Pictures. Not sure why, but it's not there.
