I don't edit my photos.........

I am on several Guitar, Harley and Hot Rod forums and post lots of pics. What would you guys suggest as a good, inexpensive, user friendly editing program?
Mainly, I just upload to Photobucket and post them. There are some editing options there, nothing fancy. The Macro thread has me wanting to do more cropping and enlarging to get more from my shots.

Just recently got it. Still learning. I got the D3200 for dummies book and reading through it. Just want to take my skills to another level a little at a time.

You might also try Picasa i have heard good things about it. For me nothing can beat Adobe Photoshop, but picasa /etc are good enough for everyday photos i think.

start with picassa. then when u feel u want more move to lightroom or acdsee/pro. PS is a heavy program and needs a lot of time to learn. years, to really be good. you can get by just with picassa for now. it goes for the unbelievable price that every wallet can afford $0

hrstrat57 is right. nikon nxd/nx2 and picassa. good start to get a feel for what you need.

First off, are you shooting raw or doing jpg in camera?

Second, are you an Apple or PC user?

Third, what are you wanting to do with your photos by editing?

You mention you haven't been editing pics previously. Is your motivation to do something basic like crops, exposure, contrast, etc, or are you wanting to go so far as actually removing things from an image (remove trash from a landscape pic, for instance), or change colors in an image, etc?

I started with just using iPhoto and Aperture for my basic edits (exposure, crop, etc), but have recently started getting into LightRoom and Photoshop for more options.

JPEG for now. PC user. I just want to experiment and try to get more from my photos. Mainly crops, some color correcting and such.

Based on that, I would recommend starting with something like PhotoShop Elements, Picasa, or something of the sort. You won't have as much freedom with JPG since the image has already been compressed and a lot of the useful data you might want to salvage has been tossed out. But as a starting point to get comfortable with software, try some editing, and figure out what else you want to do and WHY switch to RAW, you'd be at a good starting point.

Try Photoshop Elements....you might like that program....easy to use too!

Second vote for Elements... it does basic/reasonable editing and it can catalog/tag your photos too. I found it quite easy to learn. Its sort of a "diet" Photoshop and Lightroom rolled into one package.
