Has anyone tried!?

I have been toying with an idea.

My idea is to take a photo an hr for up to 18hrs from the same spot, this will give me 18 still photos. Then I want to merge those 18 photos into one daytime to night time photo. I am unsure I can dedicate a whole 18hrs in one spot and not moving but I am thinking of giving it a try. I would take both cameras so that I can still walk around taking other photos. What are others thoughts on this?

Are you thinking about a time lapse, or merging them like an HDR?

Merging them all into one photo. Day time at the bottom through to night the further you get up the frame.

Merge, as in left to right?

I tried something similar years ago....... same scene, but across 4 seasons. I just could never get them blended to my vision.

Hmmmm seams very interesting. I've seen similar ideas performed but not with 18 images. More like 5-6.

Ummm no not like this

I've seen results of this and they were amazing. well worth giving a go and if anyone you're the man Scott

Had to dig it up:

I've never heard of this, but after doing a Google search, I found this page with some awesome photos. Not sure if it's what you are after though. #4 appears to be blended vertically as opposed to some of the other horizontally blended examples.
