Need help on improving my baby portrait photos :)

An attempt at a portrait of my daughter Anne on her 6 months "birthday"

I don't have the room for a proper studio, so this is shot with a bookcase as a background, i know it looks messy.

Thoughts on how to improve on it?

I don't have the info on where the focus point was, when i shot it, but i think the eyes are reasonably sharp?

Cute baby photo and a beautiful child you have! Congratulations! I love this shot, great catch lights in her eyes really shine. Short of changing out the background, I can't think of anything that could make this a better shot. Outstanding image!

Really nice shot and nice daughter. The light is perfect and so is the posture and expression. The only thing I see that could make the shot look better would be to either burn or remove the white books on the left side of the pic. I feel my eyes are constantly attracted to the light patch the books produce. This is easily done in post processing.

You can control the tone of black to give more warmth to skin tones by adding orange to it. I don't know the technical "how to" but here is what I did with just some minor tweaking.
