New Here, Just Uploading Some Pictures For Critique

Hey all. I am new to these forums and just wanted to upload a few photos for critique. Up until recently I have been taking photos of sports events and portraits. But I have now branched out in order to try and further my 'education'. All comments welcome.

Tiger Paw. I was at the zoo and the tiger was sleeping. It had its paw resting on a big rock.

Some of you might recognise this photo. All I will say is that this is where they found the Direwolves!

Trees in local forest park. That is my wife in the photo pushing our kids in the pram.

Another waterfall in the forest park.

This is Gosford Castle. It is in the same forest park that the waterfalls are in.

Welcome to the forum, Mark. If you want a valid and detailed critique, please read and follow the critique rules. Post only one photo at a time with exif data and intent. If all you want is "nice job" and this is just "show and tell", you can post to the General Photography thread or the Daily Photo thread.

It's a little overwhelming to ask members to critique 6 photos especially when it's your first post.

And to further add to what Helene said....your watermark needs a little work....as in....it's annoying to see that bar running across the bottom of the shot. Totally distracting from otherwise nice shots.

Nice pictures...good dreary overcast English feel to them. Just imagine what it would have been like to live in that when it was first built and be able to go hang out down at the waterfalls and have your choice of the best looking peasant....nevermind...LOL

I think it is funny how so many people watermark their photos...any savvy picture thief is going to be able to photoshop watermarks out easily...

Thanks guys for the comments.

I am new to these forums so if I posted these in the wrong section I apologise. If someone wants to move them to the correct forum then feel free to do so.

The reason I have a watermark on the photos is because I had uploaded a lot of pictures to my facebook page and tagged people in them. I wanted my name on the photos because I have previously had people linking my images on their facebook pages. I thought if my name is on the photos then everyone will know who took them when they look at them.

Hi Mark! I don't think Jack is disagreeing with watermarking - just that the style you're using detracts from the image in a significant manner. Very nice technical images though I do find the paw shot a bit soft.
