Trying out two different edits. I would love to read which you prefer and the why. Thank you in advance.

I prefer the first one. The second one has too many highlights that aren't the main focus of the image and draw your eye towards them instead.

first, for the same reasons -- the burn out on the breast plate adds nothing but does diminish the rest.

#1 but not by much, darker shadows and the saturation in the red of the fire ball. In the second the left side wing too hot or too much lit. Not sure the loss of detail hurts at all, since the eyes are dead on. What would you see if you were looking at someone with a fire ball, the detail or the fire ball? Really like the improve highlight on the helmet. How would localizing the effect to just the body work?

I also prefer the first one, George, for the same reason. Highlights draw attention, but because there are several - especially the hot spots of the breast plate, helmet, and forearms - my eye wanders throughout the image. I also prefer the slight color difference of the first. It appears to include a darker orange tone that I find more pleasing.
