Portrait of wifey :)

This is a portrait I shot of my wife last night. Tried to submit it to the weekly challenge but came in too late with it. Hoping to get some feedback here. Likes? Dislikes? Constructive criticisms? Thank you!

Certainly!
Nothing too dramatic but that big, white light in the upper-right corner was killing me so I removed it. Then some tweaks (added some bokeh balls and a touch of "drama"). Then I thought a tighter crop kinda helped to strengthen the image overall but now that I look at it again, I may have cropped OUT the bokeh balls I put in...

I like this image a lot. The only thing I would look to do if re-shooting would be to get a little light (just a little) into the shadow side of her nose. That, or turn her head slightly camera right to get more shadows going from the chin. Or ... raise the light source slightly to bring the shadow from the nose down so that it approaches her lips, without touching. But really, those are little nits and I this this image stands well on it's own as-is.

I hope you don't mind if I played around a little. I noticed the lighting was a little more direct on camera left side so as mentioned about the shadow on the right side of her nose was a little dark so I make the whole camera right side only of her face darker to add depth. Added lightening in a few areas like modeling light, to infer her face contours which are lost somewhat in the original.Added a little light to the bridge of the nose for shaping, lightened the sclera...whites of her eyes, increased saturation on the lip stick color, added a hint of eye shadow to highlight contours of her face, left the bright light in and lastly used a high pass filter to smooth the skin on camera right side.
The goal was to make up for the relatively flat light to give the impression of facial contours that were masked by the flat light, and the reason multiple light sources of different intensity are used to give back the perception of depth when the lighting took that away. Looking at the result and saved as another jpg, a lot of resolution is lost when uploading again. We can try again for better quality if you could upload the full RAW file. This image is only 73kb
