Photo of my dog

Just looking for some quick feedback on this quick shot of my dog. Posting the original, the color edit and the bw edit. "Edits" are just quick Lightroom tweaks and I boosted the blue in his eyes in Photoshop on the color edit. Also, how do I get the EXIF data to be available for photos I post here?

Your doc pictures are awesome! Are you a professional photographer or is it just your hobby? As for me, I am a huge dog lover either and like taking pictures of my Lussy too! From time to time I post my photos at online contest at https://www.voubs.com/ Haven't won anything yet, but hey, there is a real possibility to earn some money with ur talent. My advice for you is to check it out;)
PS: Posting a picture of Lussy from the Dog Games we've attended last summer.Mid+Flight_34e166069c0e63cb91eb126f5e310645.jpg

Great photo and a beautiful dog!

If you're going to do a close up head shot like that, try to blur the background with an open aperture, to make sure the dog is the only subject. I'm not sure what items are behind the dog, but it's distracting.

Regarding the EXIF thing - I got that to work by opening the RAW file and converting it to JPG for the forum. If your camera spits out a RAW+JPG you still have to use the RAW file.

Middle one is preferred, but that background is horribly distracting.

I don't know how elaborate you were getting into this photo, but the dog could use some light in the eyes and a bit of light behind it to separate it from the background. At first I thought it was a collage photo with the dog laid on top of a log cabin picture of some kind.

Not elaborate whatsoever. He was lying there in the living room and my camera was next to me on the couch so I jumped on the floor to snap a shot of him lol

Hmm,, I'm trying to remember so don't hold me to this , but when you go to export the image there's a 'dialog page' that one ordinarily zips past which allows you to just choose to include the exif.. is that right???

As far as the image goes , you're blowing out the whites on both the lower images , Some folks accept a bit of that since it lets you make for a brighter image , but if you can shift the midtones up your pic will be brighter without creating the blank space on its muzzle. The tone is a little warm but I think it will look nice if you can get the overall image lighter.

( you can always selectively drop the saturation of the yellows rather than change the overall temp -Or if you have PS the 'pearly whites' filter can adjust the white tones )
Use the selection brush tool in LR to selectively just make the eyes, bluer without introducing odd tones elsewhere in the image... as happens when you raise overall saturation or temp controls.
PS If you like any of my comments, please let me know ,, if nobody tells me otherwise I'm not going to bother making suggestions.
