Hello! I went to the beach house today, to take care of the garden, and noticed that we still had some rose buds. So, I decided to bring a rose for the ladies of the site.
Not to be pestering, but in this case I think a "little" softed is much too much. I suspect you have used the "blur" filter. When I use it, I try to use it on a copy layer and then create a mask to remove some blur just where I want.
But in this case, maybe you could have used the "glow" filter. But I don't know which program you use to post process...
As much as the original is sharper, it still lacks character. I think the light isn't there to make the texture come out.
It seems the flower is flatly lit and there is a lack of contrast and texture.
It's still a rose, but it does not stand out of the background.
I took the liberty of working on it a bit and there is some gain in post processing from my point of view.
About the light is all about but luck. The moment I took the photo a cloud hide the sun. And in the next moment was pouring rain... Afterwards I forgot the matter totally...
