Is this the Milky Way ?

Hello Nikonites,

I have looking for the Milky Way and think i found it. This is one of many shots of it.

Can you guys confirm if this is the Milky Way..?

Also, any advices to improve my shots in the future ?

Technically, it is part of the Milky Way. Our whole spiral galaxy that the Earth is part of, is called the Milky Way.

Yes it is. Open up your aperture more.

For editing, do a search on YouTube. There are plenty of tutorials to help with editing the Milky Way. The edit is what really brings it out.

Keep your exposure to no more that 20 seconds so movement of the stars does not show Open up your aperture since DOF does not matter at this distance. But yes, that is the part of the Milky Way that we can see.
