I don't do a lot of black & white work, but when I was processing this image, it just seemed to be a black & white image. Hand-held from from a harbor tour boat. Thoughts, comments, etc?

Nice but really would have like to see a bit more of the bridge and some room to the right of the tower. You clipped off the side of it. You were are 82mm but with the 24-120 you had lots of room to spare. Shot at 24mm this might have been a totally different photo.

I agree with Don... Plenty of breathing room on the left edge (fully one-third of the frame) while one subordinate, but still very powerful element, the Freedom Tower, is getting clpped on the right edge. I too would like to see the whole tower in-frame with roughly equal breathing room on both edges, which would possibly add a little context. Edges and corners... They'll get you every time if you don't watch them.

Agree with both Don and Paul. Wider would have been better. We were on a moving boat and I was focusing on the bridge and didn't see where the Freedom Tower was until I stated looking at the shots on my computer. I really wish I had more room to the right, but I was lucky to get as much of the Freedom Tower in it as I did. I think I was at that focal length because I was focusing on the bridge and not the wider scene.

Something I started trying to remember/do especially since I got the D750 was to shoot wider and then crop to what I wanted. YOu have lots of room to do that with the D810. It is really important like I have learned the hard way to give yourself room when you want prints. A 5x7, 8x10, 11x14 20x30 all have different ratios and having a little extra fudge room can really save your butt.
