A rainbow has always an angular radius of 42 deg. If this was a true rainbow, the image would be about 170 deg. across, suggesting a fish-eye lens. The photo does not look fish-eye at all. To my eye it was taken by a medium telephoto.

This is not real.

I agree. If you look at this shot with the lightning bolt , https://www.flickr.com/photos/drummist53/28790961065/in/photostream/ and the posted shot next to it on Flickr, it is the same exact shot . Even the clouds are exactly in the same place.

Not saying whether it's right or wrong nor passing judgement at all. :)

The colors of the rainbow have perfect, uninterrupted consistency (absolutely NO gradient?!) regardless of the clouds, etc...

Yeah, any Photoshop'er worth their salt could tell you that "rainbow", in that photo, is pure digital magic.
