Not something special but please let me know what you think of the photo. Thank you.

Very nice phot, Franthy, and welcome to the forum! Such a beautiful animal. I like the composition and that you left the grass to the right. Good job!

That looks like an Elk calf. Nice shot!

Tell me something Franthy. If YOU don't think your shots are special, then why should I?

When your shots are special to you, you put something of yourself into them. Otherwise, its just a digital image.

Please post your special shots. THATS what we want to see! :)

It is excellent...great capture of something very majestic. I always get myself into trouble with this sort of thing but I would almost say that animal is pregnant!

I am very fortunate in that deer live on the farm with us...they bed here eat the grapes, blackberries and persimmons...they raise their young here...etc.etc.etc... I used to have a female Lab who could go stand amongst the deer and they paid her no mind at all, even when the fawns were around..she would also walk underneath the horses and eat grass with them!

This picture is from about two weeks ago...they are in a pattern that is taking the babies by this lone persimmon tree in the middle of the pasture where they eat year after year, just like they always have for many many years. The bucks and others stay in the treeline in the background, which is an old country lane...you can almost set your watch by their movements! I might eat one of them someday if WalMart closes, or the catfish in the pond all die, or if our cows quit having calves! LOL

My photo is not anywhere as cool as yours though, Franthy...

I would assume you made this pic with a zoom???

There are stems of grass in front of the critters hoofs and that is details that wouldn't normally get shopped in.

The photo is taken at 60mm, F5,6, 400 ISO and 2/1000 sec. The photo is cropped only a few millmeters. And no further photoshopping.
The deer live freeland in the middle of the town where I live. They are used to have people around them. And if you have a small plasticbag full of toastbred, biscuits or some apples they will eat it from your hands. But don't make any sudden moves. I can come very close to them deers

Something like that isn't difficult to do. I have photos on here that have entire trees removed from scenes, including the shadow cast. There's very little that can't be accomplished with Photoshop.

This deer has a hard outline shape and different lighting than the background, which is typical for cut and paste. I'm not saying this is the case here, or that it's even a bad thing. Photoshop is an image making tool, and that's fine. Now if it's someone else's work....that's a different story.
