Summer Fun

I know... I should only post 1 pic, but this time it's 2 with the same hope. I was trying to catch a feel of "Summer Fun", showing the carnival and the fun people were having on the rides, etc. RIP 'EM UP! Which one is best? Does either work, or neither? Different looks needed? Both are crops from larger pics, but open to any and all ideas, including "here's how you should set it up the next time you get the chance to shoot it."

For my thoughts, I kind of like the feel of the first one edit wise, but it was harder to pull off with the 2nd pic, which was later in the night. I lean toward liking the 2nd pic more overall, but not sure if it works? Sometimes, I LOVE IT... sometimes I don't.

I don't think 250th of a second is enough to get the folks in focus on a spinning wheel.
May I ask where was your focus point?
Second pic is fine. and I like it much better...Gooo Primal Beast!!

It was kind of the hope, on the first one, to catch expressions without perfectly in focus faces, allowing for a bit of motion shown without getting too streaky. The focus is on the center of the spinning ride mechanism.
