Still Life Appraisal

Going through my early still life attempts trying to figure out which ones I like, if any..Have not done any post processing yet.

I like the composition of the first shot best but I prefer the contrast and darker shadows in the third shot. I've not tried any still lifes yet but you've inspired me to give it a go.

I find the light a little on the harsh side. Direct sun like that tends to blow out highlights and create deep shadows. It will minimize the subtleties of the colors.

I agree STM. I'm trying to learn the various ways to reduce the direct harsh sunlight. /like perhaps a white sheet or doing it in post processing. I'm still very new to this. Thanks for the insight.

Eliot, I'm new to still life as well, but I'm really enjoying the creative challenges. It's different in that you have more control in setting it up and also it's easier physically, which is a big factor in my case. Enjoy!
