This shot was, my entry, one of fifty three entries in my photo club's end of the year competition. It was entered in the Five Year Open Class and won first place. The second shot was, my entry, one of forty-seven entries in the fourth-quarter open class and won honorable mention (fourth place.)

Congratulations, Joseph! I'm so glad your excellent photography is being recognized! Great photos --your PP really perked up the Mingus Mills shot.

Best Regards

Thanks for the kind comments guys. It's most appreciated. The Mingus Mill shot is the result of three trips over three years and I'm not really satisfied. I'll go back next fall and do it again.

Joseph....stop being such a perfectionist and start enjoying your work! :) You're a damn good photographer, and I dare say all of us here really enjoy and admire your work. Life is short, bud, and you and I both know that nothing on this planet is perfect. So don't beat yourself up over things that you "think" are wrong. Most likely, they're not! :)

Jack, I truly appreciate what you are saying and thank you for your kind comments. I don't really see myself as being a perfectionist but it is part of my style of photography, I enjoy it. I don't really look at what I do as trying to perfect a previous shot. Each time I go back to a location I've been to before it's all new. It's a different time of year, different time of day, lighting, exposure, compositions, a whole new set of photographs. The Mingus Mill shot was taken on a dull overcast day. I'll go back and shoot it in October but a different composition on a bright sunny day, a different picture. To me that's enjoying my work.
