Do you guys EVER read the fine print? Just curious because when you give these clowns your photo, it is FOREVER.... and chances are, you have ZERO hope of winning anything!!!! These contests are COPYRIGHT GRABS!!!!!

Thanks for pointing that out Art. Seems like a lot of these so-called "photo contests" are the same. I also get the feeling that alot of photo sharing sites may go the same way in order to make more money. There is no place safe for your photos on the interweb, they even get stolen from here.

Your Welcome, AC016.

This is a real buggaboo with me. I can't stand these "contests" and it is done by Reputable Players.... National Geographic is the biggest GRABBER on the net. Everyone thinks that because it is NatGeo, it is a no brainer. Or, many have no clue.

Once you upload.... your rights go up the window on a prize pic, just like that... NO RECOURSE!

If they are stolen here, you have some legal action you can take. Photo Contest.... too bad you didn't read the FINE PRINT!

Don't send your images to PHOTO CONTESTS without READING the fine print!

:)

I agree with everything you said. Check the fine print of all contests, hosting services, offsite backup services etc.
If you ever believe you can make money with your images I encourage you to register them with the copyright office. Your work is automatically copyrighted upon creation but registration allows for more compensation should a work be stolen.
