Just looking for a general sense as to what is being used.
For landscape, portraits, wildlife, things, macro, night, sunsets. etc.
So if you have a moment and your interested in sharing, thanks!

Anything outside I've been using CPL filter. Great results for colors in the sky and reducing reflections.

The only two filters I have (and use) are the CPL and UV (protection) filters. Anyone who laughs at using a UV filter as a protection filter hasn't had the experience of their bag dropping from about a foot above the ground with their 70-200mm f/2.8 lens facing downward. I was more than happy to pay another $50 for another UV filter after the first one broke, which saved the front element of the lens.

I use three types of filters, two for taking photos and the third as Essence of Imagery has stated very strongly I and support for protection of the lens. My primary filter is the CPL. I use it outdoors to take out reflected light and to enhance color. The CPL can also serve as a 1 1/2 stop ND. The second one is the ND or neutral density. The ND is used to reduce the sheer volume of light to a level that is more easily worked with. They can serve to reduce shutter speeds to a level that will show movement of water, or other types of movement. And as EoI says always use a filter to protect the lens face.

I use UV for protection on all of my lenses, I also have a CPL on my walk around lens (17-55 F2.8) and I have Cokin square filters (ND8, Tobacco, Sunset and GND)

Hi all,
Is there a preference on a filter for snow and sunlight or a mostly sunny day. I have a family photo shoot for the first time that wants a wintery back ground and I have not yet done portriats in winter out side. This will be my first winter session since taking my photography fundamentals course. what if any suggestions can you provide.
thank you!

75% of the time my lens has a CP Filter on it ... the other 25% is mixed between a UV or an ND. Haven't really had the need for anything else.
