DSLR and laptop bag that's good for air travel?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good bag for air travel for a D5100 and a 17" laptop. I'll still have my normal camera bag, but I'm thinking if I combine the laptop and DSLR into a bag (backpack preferably) it will be easier to travel when I'm flying. I think a backpack would be easier for me to carry as well, that's the only reason why I said backpack.

Yup, I was going to suggest the same as Philly, but he beat me to it. :) I'm a big Lowepro fan myself. I own 3 Lowepro bags myself.

The 350 states it will fit up to 17 but I have no experience with either bag other than I am looking at the 350 (Same reason... 17" laptop)

Good Catch, ABN Panzer. I have only carried my 13 in. Macbook Air and my iPad, at the same time and they fit well, together. The 250 Fastpack can handle girth, but with a 17 in. laptop, you have to be concerned about length. I have placed my wife's 15 in. laptop in the 250 and it's got length space to spare. It looks to me that a 17 in. would fit, but you can play it safe and get the 350, which is a lot of bag. I wish I had a 17 incher to test for you. My son has one, but he's not available. Check out some of the Youtube videos on this bag. You will be amazed at what can fit in them. Good luck.

I too have that Lowepro fastback 250 and if I travel, its what I take everywhere. D5100 with 55-200 attached, my 35mm prime , my macro, sb400 all fit really nice.

It's no my daily pop out and shoot something bag, but when I travel, it's the one.....and I've had over 20 bags!

Yep. It's great to fly with and once you remove your Ipad or laptop, it's a decent backpack for your daily shooting, while on vacation. But, at home, it's not my everyday bag.
