Tripod Question ???

Hello Folks,
I'm tripod shopping and have an Induro brand question. I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this topic. I have found on the Benro/Induro USA website, Induro tripods, 3 of which have the "CLT" designation with no "GIT" series models being shown. This makes me wonder if the "GIT" series, which is still available at some big online retailers (Adorama, B & H etc.), is an older series-(possibly ready to be discontinued). Does anyone know if one series is older than the other between the "CLT" or the "GIT" series. I might want to buy a tripod from a newer model series vs a discontinued series. Thanks in advance for your help.

Both brands are great, I've used both, Benro is where I settled. Model year/ brand name really doesn't matter, buy the best you can afford and take pictures. I've shot great pictures on $50 tripods and crappy ones on $500 tripods.

Good point my friend. Glad to know you are good with both brands. Thanks for your reply.
Mind if I ask what Benro model you settled on ?

I watched some reviews and comparisons before choosing a carbon fiber tripod and picked a Benro. I love it so far and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Like yourself, I will be mounting a big gun tele - (Sigma 150-600mm-C) lens on my next tripod.

That's the one Robin and I went with when it was time to upgrade. It's been a good one.

It certainly looks like a monster of a tripod with strong, thick legs as well as being quite tall. For me it would be the weight of 4.3 pounds without factoring in the weight of a head. But for many people, it can be carried without any problems (I've had 3 knee surgeries in the past so I won't even consider it).

I do own a Benro TMA28A Series 2 Mach3 Aluminum Tripod. It is solid, but my favorite is an aluminum Gitzo Series 2 Long that extends quite tall. I also have the comparable Gitzo carbon fiber model (Mountaineer I believe) that is nice, but for some reason, the aluminum is my preference.

Yet I still own a Bogen Manfrotto 3021 aluminum tripod with a Bogen Manfrotto 3047 geared head. The combo weighs about 10 pounds so I rarely carry it anywhere now. The combo is stong...and that head is rock solid (the head must be somewhere in the 4 pound range).

It looks like the CLT has a center column and the GIT doesn't.

For anyone interested, I contacted Benro/Induro USA today and confirmed the following:
1) Mr. Andy W, you were correct to say that the difference between the CLT and the GIT series is that the CLT has a center column and the GIT series does not.
2) Confirming my suspicion, the GIT series is in fact being discontinued. This may mean nothing to some and something to others like myself. This explains why the GIT series does not appear on their website any longer. However, one important note for GIT series owners is that Benro/Induro will continue to offer customer support, including replacement parts for GIT series tripods. Good to see that they are not abandoning their GIT series customers.
Thanks to all for your input and comments.

Mach3 TMA27A with a 1B2 head, I like having only 3 leg extensions and very solid. From BH Photo.

Thanks for the info, my friend.
I agree and went with a 3-section tripod as well, (Benro Induro BICLT303, also from B & H). Unless it's necessary, I feel (and have read) that the fewer the leg sections, the more stability you have. Thanks again for sharing.
