since getting my new 3LT leveling base tripod and the 300PF4 , i'm not sure i'm going to use the gimbal as much.
I currently do not have a ball head as that's attached to the old tripod being used by my good lady.

my super duper exotic collection of glass (jk) is the Nikon PF4, a sigma 150-600C and a Sigma 10-20 f3.5.

so question is do i get a panoramic head / a fluid head or a cine head.

the 3 Legged thing ball head suggests it will easily hold the weight as its rated for 40kg vertical load but it just looks wrong i do not know why i love the 3LT stuff and have a monopod by them as well.

There's a Scottish guy has a YouTube channel, Tom Heaton, take a look at his equipment list. The head he's currently using (spoiler alert:$$$) is the one I lust after! BTW - I currently have a variety of ball heads and a "fluid head" cine tripod. None (!) of them is ideal.

I would suggest Hudson Henry Photography on YouTube. His page is quite good. He covers all of the options you mentioned and what he uses and why. Some of his suggestions are pricy but he had a ball head option that was really nice. You can do a search on his page. He is one of those guys that researches stuff to the nth degree. If I ever decide to upgrade there is a tripod he recommends that I will be picking up.

I watched that first video over 3 years ago and it sort of influenced me to not buy a gimbal. I did not buy a fluid head like he advocates for either, but I do continue to look at them waiting for a right one to come along. I don't quite have a good enough tripod for the bowl leveler.

I went back to find the ball head option that I meant to share with you. https://youtu.be/HLf_HOMl83g

It is a good ball head... but it was expensive before and now it has gone up in price by over $100. I stumbled at $350 and was not ready to pull the trigger. But now it is about $450. I already have two good Arca Swiss. The thing they do is HOLD. I got them used. I have had less stellar ball heads that just settle after a few seconds and that is frustrating. The Arca Swiss can handle over 100 lbs of load and that is nice. You set it in place and it is not going to move. I could not afford a new one today. But used is good.
