Airhed Ball mount

Hello everyone, I am building my next Tripod & was reading with interest about the airhed ball mount.

Has anyone used this companies offerings for there tripod or Monopod?

I like the Manfrotto 190 tripod leg set, however I am concerned that the wonder
center shaft working in Vertical & Horizontal can cause unsteady use as it
is extended. Don't worry about the tripod I just want to find the right ball head
mount I will study on the legs later.

So what do you think about your airhed ball mount & or the airhed tripod systems.

Thank You all for your kind help. :unconscious:

Hi Hobbit
How does a ball head work out with a MP I have the pan & tilt heads on my MPs.
I am looking for my first light weight TP with a Ball head mount, the only ball head I
have now. My Aluminum 21 pound tripod has a ball head made of steel & used
to take photos in the Colorado river. Not by me supposedly a Nat-Geo photographer
it has a tiny ball-head that has a mount made for a Kodak Brownie camera. No kidding.

So this is my first modern LW tripod with a modern Ball head, I like the idea with the freedom
of movement a ball head gives us. Since I really love to shoot Wild & Garden flowers & plants
in close up I need or want a tripod that allows me to shoot close up odd angles.

I know about the 3 choices we have when choosing a perfect TP & how only 2 really work
that's why I'm not looking for the perfect tri pod for a great price, only the other two.

my tripod and head are made by a company called Red Snapper in the UK was cheap and the quality out weights its price , if i said i use a carbon Gimbal on my mono pod for wildlife when using my 150-600mm.
i thought my Red Snapper was built well but the 3LT mono pod is rock solid and i mean rock solid. using it with a ball head is great but if you doing close ups you need a tripod that you can invert the centre column on and i think all but one of their tripods (patti i dont think does) will invert. the air head just allows you to see how the ball head works IMO bit gimmicky.

ignoring the fact there is a 5'5" hobbit in the pic which is me , thats my Sigma 150-600C, D500 with the gimbal on the 3LT monopod , the monopod has a foot spreader for extra stability

That's a very nice rig Hobbit, looks steady & light weight.
I like Monopod, have used them for many Classic Car shows over the years.

I bought a 3LT "Punks" tripod last year. It has a form of that airhead ball-head, without the "visible" feature and a pan adjust. The tripod is nice. It is a 4-segment carbon fiber leg design. It is light and steady for it's weight. I don't think I will choose it for my Sigma 150-600mm lens, but everything else I have is fair game to use on it. I use a heavier tripod and ball-head for the big lens. The airhead is Arca-Swiss compatible and works with my L-brackets. The knob does not have a limiter adjust, so you can twist the knob and fully loosen the ball to make the camera flop if not mindful about that. My Sirui K-40 head has the limiter and it is normally set to leave some resistance when unscrewed so the rig won't be prone to flop. Try to get a sale price on the 3LT as I think they are normally overpriced for what they are. Of course I say the same for Peak Design, but I still use their anchor-link system.

There is a removable monopod conversion feature, but I will never use it.I have a Vanguard monopod already that is better and does not require the teardown of the tripod. And I use a tilt-only head on my monopod.
