I have been looking at replacing my cheap monopod/head for something better. I am that a Desmond DMH-2X1 Monopod Tilt Head and a Oben CTM-2500 5-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod may work but I am open to suggestions.

I got a wimberly monopod head for using with a mefoto monopod when using my D7500 with Nikon 200-500 attached. I got it after watching Steve Perry on YouTube recommending it.

On board a cruise ship whale watching and tracking albatrosses...SUPERB.
Quite a few photographers came over to see what I had.

Recently I have been looking at the Wimberley Monogimbal and it looks like a better option that the pan/tilt head.

I am looking at this too. I was hoping someone here was using one to give some feedback. I'll need a new monopod too tho because mine isn't really rated for using my big lens.

I bought the wimberley monopod head and used it extensively on board a ship in Antarctica spotting whales in February, albatrosses etc etc

That’s a heavy lens....after 15 minutes you’ll look like Popeye!

Performed superbly. I was able to swing it around to spot creatures close, far, low and high. Quite a few photographers on board got monopod envy and came asking to try it out.

I have to thank Steve Perry https://youtu.be/Fgj8bMviZOw

I can’t recommend it more highly.

Seems they are hard to get at the moment, in Australia anyway, and I'm not trusting OS post just now, so I'm going to have to wait on this one, or find an alternative
