Nikon Lense Collar Replacement

My current setup is a Nikon D7200 paired with the Nikon AF-S 80-400MM/F/4.5-5.6G ED VR lense. I am looking at buying a sturdy tripod and was looking at my current lense collar thinking it doesn't appear to be that strong. Any opinions on this and if other forum members have elected to purchase a third party collar to replace this one. Thanks.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but are you currently using the tripod foot with a strap attached (rather than a strap on the lug nuts)? If so does it feel weak? If a lens is heavier than a body, a tripod foot is recommended - if one isn't used, it can put stress on the body's mount. I do hope you find one that will be suitable! :)

No, I currently do not own a tripod yet. Considering getting one, a friend of mine is letting me use hers since she got a new one for Christmas. This way I will be able to determine if it suits me. Currently I use a Cotton Carrier to carry my setup.
