    Muslin backdrop

Last February I bought this backdrop:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The dark side had a couple spots on it that we tried to wipe off, which wiped off the dye or whatever cheap stuff they used to color it. The poor quality may be why it is listed as being currently unavailable. We're looking for suggestions for decent quality backdrops that will hold up better.

Since you bought this last February, it may be too late, but did you file a complaint with Amazon. Also, Amazon talks about theirs "A-to-z Guarantee", did you look into this. Amazon has always come through for me when I had an issue.

I haven't filed a complaint. I will look into their guarantee.

Personally, I avoid muslin backdrops like the plague. What I've found works infinitely better is "faux suede", also known as "microsuede". It's available at pretty much any place that sells fabric by the yard. Expect to pay somewhere around $6 or $8 a yard (at least that's what I pay online). Typically faux suede is 100% polyester (so it's machine washable), very durable, comes in pretty much every color under the rainbow and it's *very* wrinkle resistant; which is my main gripe with muslin... I swear muslin wrinkles if you so much as look at it sideways.

As I mentioned, I get 60" wide faux suede online: Faux Suede at Fabric (dot) com but there are plenty of other places that sell it. If you have a Joann's fabrics nearby chances are they carry faux suede, but color choices for the 60" widths has always been pretty grim when I've checked there; one of the many reasons I buy it online.

EDIT: Almost forgot... Another great fabric I use for backdrops is velour, which comes with all the advantages of faux suede.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the wrinkles. I'll look into the faux suede and velour. Thanks!
