Nikon MC-36A Mutil-Function Remote Cord Control or equivalent

I'm looking for a remote that will enable me to self take and being able to adjust the self timer (and when the timer starts) and amount of shots.
Can anyone help with telling me if the Nikon MC-36A Mutil-Function Remote Cord Control is capable of this and if there are any other recommendations as i read a lot of reviews saying this isn't that great build quality.

What body are you using? And what type of photography do you want to use it for?

That's a bit of overkill for what you want... and I'm not sure the Nikon MC-36A works with your camera... The ML-L3 would do what you want and is in the <$10 range... There are versions of the MC-36a from 3rd party folks that are 1/10th Nikon's price

Thanks Fred , i know its overkill but being able to set the timer and and start the timer remotely is the main reason for this as i don't think the ML-L3 can do this I've seen MC-36A priced around $40 here in UK ,I've seen the 3rd party controllers also.

Yes I am aware , just wanted to be able to start the timer while In Front of the camera so I can care for the fish 100% of the time . Anyway brought one from amazon yesterday and arrived today and from the quick play around this evening it works like a dream .
