Simple DoF paid app

I've been looking for an easy DoF calculator app and finally found one I really like. Previously I've been using TrueDoF-Pro but much prefer the intuitive and easy layout of Simple DoF. Here is a screen shot from my phone showing how it works.

This was set up for a 300mm lens on my D750, f/10, photographing something 60 feet away.

This allows 2 different camera models to be used so I have mine set for the D750 and D7100. To switch between cameras, all I have to do is to swipe the top part of the chart sideways (where the camera model is listed). The DoF is different between FX and DX so the numeric values for what is in focus change.

The app is $1.99 which is much less than TrueDoF-Pro. Here is info on the app for Apple products if anyone is interested.

No doubt there are other DoF apps that are good, but I like how everything is clearly displayed with this one.

Do the results of the two apps match each other ? Are they accurate, or is there a measure of accuracy for such things ?

They do not come up with the exact measurements. I'm having trouble dialing in exactly 60 feet into TrueDoF-Pro. I either go over by 4" or at least 1" too short. But this is what I came up with as close as I could get to 60 feet:

TrueDof-Pro also has a setting to turn on/off factoring in diffraction. Below is the same thing with diffraction calculated in. Above was without diffraction.

BUT unless I am missing something, TrueDoF-Pro doesn't calculate for a crop factor body. In their directions it states, Set the actual focal length, as printed on the lens. Do not carry out any '35mm/full-frame equivalent' conversions.

According to this online DoF Calculator which doesn't have the latest camera bodies listed, it too is very close to both without including diffraction.

So both apps are very close without factoring in diffraction. If you want to include diffraction, then you lose out on a true DX measurement with TrueDoF-Pro. Or use Simple Dof to calculate for both FX and DX, but you can't factor in diffraction. I just find Simple DoF much easier to dial in the settings.
