waterproof cases...advice please!

Was looking to get waterproof case for my D3300....we holiday on the Norfolk Broads and I would love to capture some underwater duck legs as the idea intrigues me!! It would be pot luck shooting, but hey ho, if you don't try, you can't fly. My queries are these: would my remote trigger still work (plastic/water inhibit it)?
How good are the pictures (plastic distortion at all)? All thoughts welcome! Thanks in advance, guys.

I was intrigued by the trigger underwater question so I just googled it. From what I see, radio triggers don't work underwater... only optical triggers. I'm not sure I've seen an optical trigger unless they're talking about infrared ones.

I think waterproof cases are in a weird spot for people that are just playing around. With smartphones being waterproof and waterproof devices like gopros and their knockoffs, I think it's making less sense to buy a plastic housing that could be $100-$1,000 to house a dslr.

I hope you get some answers, I think underwater duck feet would be pretty neat. Might be tough to expose but cool none the less. Good Luck!

Thanks for your input.....think casing way out of my league, more drawn towards a glorified plastic bag, but lack the faith! Had not thought of another little waterproof camera ....I have a birthday soon....! I have these wonderful ideas for pictures, but they are never how I imagined in actuality.....practice, I suppose. Not a problem!

I picked up a refurbished Nikon Coolpix AW110 a couple of years ago. Waterproof to 50 or 60 ft. I think it was less than $150.00

Some pretty descent cameras like the Sony RX100 have multiple choices for housings. I used one with a Sony housing last year in the Galapagos. My technique was somewhat lacking, but I think its an OK option for introduction to underwater pics. The little RX100s are pretty expensive though.

Thanks to everyone who had ideas for me......I'm going to ask my brother in law if I can borrow his waterproof camera, see how I get on with it and take it from there...a win/win! I will then know how much use I would get from one and how much to spend accordingly.
