Tripod recommendations

I did have (but no longer) a Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod and a Manfrotto 488RC2 Midi-Ball Head.

What are some tripod and ball head recommendations?

I need something with some height, aluminium is fine. Not worried about weight as I won't be carrying it far.
Just need something that is sturdy and definitely a no droop ball head.

Thanks.

I have recently purchased the
Benro FGP18A SystemGo Plus Tripod

This is without the ball head!

it is a small light and very sturdy tripod that with a good quality Benro head and has been rated very highly by a number of magazines including rated as best travel tripod by N Photo magazine (Nikon specific magazine), here in the UK it cost me around £220 with head and it comes in a great travel bag with tools and spiked feet.
It is more than sturdy enough for any Nikon camera / lens combination.

Good luck with your quest.

MY OLD MANFROTTO 190XB AND PRO BALL HEAD (about $350) has served me well. d610 with 150-600mm good to go. YOUR PRICE RANGE WOULD HELP WITH SUGGESTIONS.

Thanks for the replies all.

Price wise - What it costs to get stability and a no droop ball head with a long and heavy telephoto.

I'd rather buy once and buy well. I've been down the tripod upgrade path before.

I bought a Vanguard Abeo 323 with a 250 ballhead. It's aluminium and pretty heavy but seems very solid, holds my D7100 and Tamron 150-600 no problems. I consider it was cheap for what I got. My only dislikes are the weight and the lever lock legs, I would prefer twist lock. And I would probably look for an Arca Swiss compatible ballhead, because some lenses are coming out with a tripod foot that is shaped to not need a plate.

I have an OLD Tiltall. It looks like it came out of a recycling yard (That's why I like it so much) . Its aluminum, circa 1960. I am 6'-1" and it's tall enough to work comfortably however, its not a ball head. BUT all the thread sizes are more of less universal so when I want a ball head, I take the one off my monpod and I have the best of both. My other half got me a new Tiltall a year or so ago, its all shinny and new... that one stays home for studio type stuff.
Ebay? or is that a dirty word on this site.
Hope you find something you like.
