Peak Design

Anyone tried out the Peak Design strap and clips? My Local camera shop has offered to lend me some for real world testing if I give feedback. From playing with it in the store the stuff looks and feels top quality. And their lens swap clip is pretty sweet. It held a D3 with a 24-70 Rock solid on my belt. Looks like it may be my next gear purchase.

So so anyone use their products?

Clips scare me since they don't appear to be connected in any other way like a strap. The straps look pretty nice there though. I like the ones that connect to one of the side lugs so it hangs just to fit my hand/arm at rest. But you can connect any of them to work that way as long as they are long enough.

I will pick up a clip. But I will use it more as an extra security measure than as a stand alone item. Locking in a heavy lens at my side so it doesn't flop around on the harness

I got the Peak Design Capture Pro haven't used it yet will be when I'm in Florida in a few weeks for my D5100 and 18-105 lens. Seems well built and strong when I tried it out in the house.

I have a Capture Pro and use it occasionally. I walked around Princeton with a couple folks from here with my IR converted D7000 with 18-105mm attached to my hip while I used my D600 and D7100 for other things. Never once did it come close to being anything but rock solid on my hip, and the mount lets me put it right on a tripod/monopod. I don't know that I'd trust it there with a heavier combination, but for a body and a prime or lightweight/small zoom? No problem.

YEP !!

I have the Slide strap, Capture Pro, Capture standard, Anchors, Everyday Messenger Bag andPouch

I confidently hang a D600 gripped and a Sigma 70-200 2.8 off the slide strap. The anchors have been re-designed so they have 3 different materials, the black outer, a yellow inner and red inside that, if you get down to the red stop using it and contact peak design.

I have the Capture (Standard) on the outside of the bag and confidently hang my camera on it if it is not on the slide strap or the tripod

The other Capture (Pro) sits permanently on my Tripod and I confidently hang the above combination on the top of the tripod, not once do I worry about the camera on the tripod, when its in the capture clip, its not coming out !!

Here are a couple vids on the slides and anchors

One thing, it looks REALLY easy to unclip the anchors but it REALLY is not ! it takes a dedicated depress on the anchor and a slide, it isnt going to come out accidentally

Here is above setup hanging from Slide

Thanks Daz. I played around with them at the shop. My buddy wants me to give real world feedback for the shop. Was just seeing if anyone else had these things. I am thinking of just buying a set outright. I was sold just running around the shop with it on

No problem, I just in head first when I did the bag on Kickstarter and im glad I did, its exceptional quality all round !!

I havent got the lens kit at the moment (Due to deciding format to stay with) but using the 70-200 as you can see I have a capture plate on the bottom so if it isnt on the camera it sits on one of the capture clips if it isnt in the bag and it is as secure as the camera being on the clip.

I used this system today when I was doing a car meet switching between that lens and my 24-85mm, I had one on the bag where it stays and the one that normally sits on the tripod I took on my belt
