Nikon WU-1A wireless mobile adapter thoughts and experiences?

I'm about to buy one from a friend (New in box) to use with the Coolpix A occasionally and maybe the D7100 if deemed useful.

So far the only real tip I've found online is to have your mobile device (Samsung Galaxy S5 for me) on Airplane mode to avoid connectivity issues.

Any users out there have any tips? Pros/Cons?

Thanks.

I have one for use with my D7100. I have a lot of problems using it with my iPhone because it is slow and cuts out before it has finished. I only try to use it with limited photos. I do have a android tablet and it works pretty good with it though. I would rather use it with the phone and did not remember the trick with having it in airplane mode so I will try that and see it that helps.

It's cute... range isn't great... so why bother??? It uses the camera as a host Wifi... so range sucks.. I can't see that you can change the speed or aperture... It focuses, and takes a pic, and uploads the photo to the phone. But since the range is so weak, why bother, I can see the image on the camera... I can spend $50 on a lot of other things...

It has a purpose. Rarely is my phone far from my person, so range is not an issue. I plan to use it for instant sharing to family at gatherings, not much else more. Depending on the images, I'd rather share then than have them wait until I've downloaded and processed certain images. Don't see myself using the remote capture feature right now.

Just another tool in the bag.

Same reason I wanted it. Occasionally I shoot a photo that I want to share and I generally end up shooting a iPhone photo and sending it out and then waiting till I get home and editing the photo and then posting it. Not the same sometimes.

Hi Carguy, I bought one n use it on my D3200 n iPhone 5s, it works great. You have to download the app for it free from App Store personally I think it's well work it. You can send pics to people almost immediately, I have it for about a year now and have had no problems with it. Hope this helps. Tc
