Creases, wrinkles, and no good way to have it absolutely perfectly tight to avoid that. Real pain is during floor shots.... Also NEVER get gray, terrible idea that I thought to be good before.

Thinking of going to home depot, buying some pvc angle joints and pipes and building a frame for this stupid backdrop to clamp-straighten it all out and on the floor. And looking into a while one to just blow it up w/ flashes and not worry about creases.

Just get a fabric steamer. Mine is a Rival model, about $40, a small floor unit with a hose to the hand held end. I don't see it any more, but it looks very much like this one:

Rival® Compact Fabric Steamer - Rival Products

It does a good job. It is a little slow, several minutes, but you only do it one time after unfolding.

Buy a portable steamer, not a little wimpy one either, one on a cart, and yes it is a pain. Grey is still the best universal color, easy to replace with something nice, or tint it up a little.

Are you guys talking about portrait backdrops? Because if you are, I just lost interest in this conversation. I'll be over at the "post your birds in flight" section if anyone needs me.:congratulatory:

Well, +/- MUCH better and controllable now. Will patch the blind leak and then ready day or night.

Another one echoing a steamer, backdrop frame, and clamps.

I would suggest that the clamps are also best used on the crossbar. Sewn rod pockets are bad news. The rod pockets may seem convenient (they're not), but the rod sags a bit in the middle from the fabric weight, and this sag makes the fabric hang unevenly, causing uncorrectable wrinkles around that sagging center part.

Whereas, if we simply throw several inches of fabric over the crossbar, and put a large clamp at each end, and another in the center, this allows us to easily adjust the fabric a bit higher in the center, so that it does hang straight with no wrinkles. A lot faster than the rod pocket too.

I find these clamps to be extremely useful:

@WayneF and Moab Man - Iron em I may try, but ones left in there post-clamp tightening (2 top, 2 bottom, 2 joint bottom area 2 far area, all sideways, so stretching side+length/diagonal effectively) are extremely minor to the hanging freely folds.

I didn't read all of the thread, but after skimming through it, is this setup for a "Steamy Bedroom Scene"? I saw steamers mentioned and a bed on the side. LOL
