Quick release plates for Mefoto roadtrip

Hello Nikonites,

I received my Mefoto Roadtrip over the weekend. It seems to be a great tripod and ALOT better than my cheapo Targus tripod. i am having issues figuring out what size quick release plates to order. I order a set of two off of amazon and they are too wide for my tripod. Are all Q1 plates the same? I ask because the Mefoto site shows the plates as being 37mm wide but when i look at PU-50 plates they measure 38mm. Could someone please help me solve this riddle? Below is the plates that do not fit.

Well by the description, and reviews posted, those plates should work. 38mm (wide) *is* the Arca Swiss technical spec for QR plates so the only thing I can think to suggest would be to take some calipers to the opening on YOUR tripod and see what it measures. Then measure the QR plate you received and compare numbers because something, somewhere, is apparently not meeting spec.

I suspect you have a 50mm plate but that's just a hunch...

A quick check on Amazon, and it appears that company sells 2 different model numbered products, Q0 and Q1 for the same exact product, which tells me they have 2 different sizes...

Maybe send Amazon/the vendor a question, and ask "what's up" ?

Thanks Horoscopefish and FredKingston! You have confirmed that I am not crazy! I didnt think that 1mm would make that much of a difference.
I did send the seller an email and hopefully he has the correct part in stock.

I've had some fun finding quick release plates that are compatible with both the MeFoto and the Manfrotto heads. The MeFoto plate ends up being just a tad to tall (vs too wide), but the Manfrotto plate fits on both. It's always something. :)
