Ink Consumption on Canvas paper - and what Canvas to get?

Hey so, I found a place where I can buy canvas print for a very fair price - but since they don't have any start up cost, they (understandable) have a minimum price you will have to buy for, and this extends sizes up to 12x15 inch. So I want to have a go at printing up to this size myself.

But wondering, will canvas use more ink than regular print paper?

I have the Canon Pro-1 but I know several of you have Epson 2000/3000, maybe you have tried printing on canvas and have a feeling about, which price range I should calculate for it?

Secondly, the only Canvas I've tried so far, are a small brand (Sihl) Photo Canvas 320gsm with structure and I wasn't really happy with the result, looked to 'matte' for my taste. I have a Hahnemuhle test paper, also structured 320gsm, but I reckon it will be just about the same result.
So very interested in hearing, if any of you found a canvas you are happy with?!

Besides above, I am finally starting to understand my printer and I really love it!

And I am finishing my accounting these days, and I've placed ink, paper and print sales separately, so I can hopefully get an idea about how the print prices are (but I haven't kept record of incorrect prints) - I'll of course paste the details here. But since its pretty new, its only an idea, also some of the cartridges are pretty low now and need to be changed and I also had some problems a while back, which took quite a bit of black, before realizing the printer needed to get repaired

I imagine that by the time you've done with inks, and tried mounting the canvas (which is not as easy as it looks), then you have to varnish the canvas as they scratch very easily, you possibly may as well have it done professionally. Here, there are more and more places that are providing this service now, so prices aren't really that high. I'm lucky that i have a friend that does any i want, he has a huge professional printer, and knows how to mount canvasses on frames.

ICC paper profiles will obviously adjust ink amounts used by your printer for each paper type. I'm wondering if there's a way to read/decode the ICC profile to decipher up front what relative differences in ink might be? Certain papers might use more of one color and less of another, but in general I would expect there to be something in there that would allow you to figure out if Paper A requires more ink than Paper B.

I found this but it won't run on my Mac. ICC Profile Inspector

No one tried printing on canvas? @RON
My printer would be capable of printing on canvas if I repositioned it to feed from the front. But so far I have not seen any canvas prints that I like. They all appear dull to me and lack luminosity. I do not feel that the cost of the photo medium should affect your prices that much, although you have to include the cost of mats, glass and frames, if you go that route. Keep us advised as to what you discover.

Of course it's different prices, according to paper type? Some paper are cheap, some are expensive..
Dull is a better word, and I agree - I just thought it had to do with the specific canvas I tried. I saw a print at the place I wanna buy it from and it looked very good with vibrant colors. But guess they got a huge printer for this.

I got a place for mounting :) But it's not the same place as the print place.

Hmm good question. I'm on a Mac too....
I just don't really trust the supply levels I can see after print as it seems that sometimes, it take a little extra time for it to show correctly.

Could easily be you are right about the profiles and the ink won't be such a big difference.

But if I won't be able to produce vibrant canvas print, I'm not gonna sell it of course.
