Anybody using a gimble head on their tripod?
I've just come a crossed the gimble heads thinking about my 80-400mm lens! For quick shots that are impossible on a ball head. I'm not the steadiest hand, and I'd like to take better critter shots, like squirls and such. So this type of head intrigued my curiosity!
I'd appreciate and info you would be able to share with me, and what's the best brands to focus on if I do eventually try one.

$150 for a Wimberly is an insanely good price. I'd suggest buying asap!

I found a wimberley WH200 on eBay I'll keep an eye on. But I imagine it will go up higher than I can afford. At least it will get me an idea on what kind of money I would need to save up if I decide to get one!

Wimberley seems to be the ARCA swiss of gimble heads, with prices to match. Lol
This might have to be something for the future for me, but it does look like something that would work very well for my wildlife critters shots!------------------------Tripods-------------------------------

Hi Bill,
I'm using a Jobu Jr. 2 Gimbal with my 80-400mm and am Very pleased with it !
The current model is the Jobu Jr. 3 @ ~ $350 and you will need a plate for the lens collar @ ~ $50.
Off shore knock offs are going for ~ $100 on ebay and have been getting good reviews on another forum.
I just happened to be in a camera store when the first Jobu Gimbal arrived and asked the salesperson to set it up with a camera/lens.
Just like a kid in a candy store, I was calling over complete strangers to "look at this thing"
Once balanced you can move the combo with next to no pressure with one finger.
Walked out with it that day...
Cheers, Don
