Meet my NEW STUDIO !!!
So!!!
After a super long wait, here it is...
The whole idea started with getting a low cost solution to see what it was i wanted to do..but then after reading around i figured, sooner or later i would want a 'better' system.
This moved from the regular ad-hoc setups from various eBay/Chinese sites to Paul C Buff's Alien Bees
Didn't work out for me cos there is no presence outside the USA & the price that i would have had to pay even considering zero issues was not very economical.
If something had gone wrong, i would have to pay shipping costs from here to USA centres.
Thus, i decided to make a bold move & go in to a system that would support me for life.
i really don't like the idea of spending some & then investing again to improve...
So, cutting the story short, here is my studio gear:
1) Elinchrom Style RX 600 (2)
LINK
2) Skyport System
This comprises of 1 Skyport Speed Transmitter, 2 Speed RX Transceivers, 1 Universal receiver (extra, for SB700) & I USB MKII
LINK
3) Elinchrom Rotalux 100cm Deep Octa
LINK
4)Elinchrom Rotalux 50x130cm Softbox
LINK
5) Elinchrom Softlite White Reflector 70cm Beauty Dish (White)with Diffuser Sock
LINK
6) Elinchrom Reflector 21cm
with Full Grid Kit
Barn Door
And Snoot & Grid Kit
7) Elinchrom PolyStand
LINK
That's about it..
By far, this has been the most expensive investment i've ever made, but i think this will serve me well for any & every situation that i may come across.
i want to take a moment to thank MANY friends here who answered many queries of mine, specially @WayneF & @gqtuazon who were REALLY patient helping me out.
i don't think i would have learned the basics of lighting or the differences in equipment if it hadn't been the good nature of very many people here..
thank you
It took me a very long time to understand lighting, what was needed, choosing the system etc.
Elinchrom has a good presence in India, so with the worldwide name the brand carries, it was a good system to invest into.
did i say i was frigging flipping out looking at my gear???!!!!

Congratulations! That is a huge investment but with the Elinchrome, I am certain that it will provide similar or better quality and the local support that is available with their costumer service. So, when is the cargo going to arrive?
