Converting my monopod into a horizontal arm?

I'm taking a lot of food photos lately and starting to realize a horizontal arm on my tripod would be really useful.

Does anyone know of tripod accessories, like a clamp that can be mounted, to turn my monopod into a horizontal arm? I've been searching, but not finding that simple piece that must be out there.

Nothing like that that I know if, but I'm guessing you could likely get creative with a small board, a nut that fits a tripod mounting bolt, and some clamps. Or get yourself something like a Manfrotto 055XPROB.

What's your budget?

the tripod I have you can turn the centre column into a horizontal arm - £89 on WEX but that might be more than you're looking to spend?

Yes, i think you can.
I remember watching one of Zack Arias' videos where he uses a manfrotto monopod as a boom.
don't remember what it exactly is right now, but can look it up at home if you'd like

I think I figured it out.... Replace the camera mount on my tripod with the Manfrotto super clamp, then attach my monopod onto the super clamp, and put my camera on the end of my monopod -- voila my horizontal arm.
Throw in a few 1/4inch to 3/8inch, or visa versa, adaptors for good measure.

Let's see some photos of this when you're done. :) I'd like to see how you made out.

It worked! I now have a horizontal arm, for under $40, to take food photos. I put it altogether with the Manfrotto clamp and some 1/4" to 3/8" (and visa versa) adaptors.

I replaced my tripod's ball head with the clamp using an adaptor (3\8" female to 1\4" male), secured my monopod into the clamp, and attached the ball head to the end of my monopod with another adaptor (1\4" female to 3\8" male). I'm glad I got the extra adaptor to attach the ball head to the monopod, it'll give me the ability to tilt the camera if needed and has a quick release so I can easily take my camera off for hand held shots.
