I ordered one. I figured at $40, the same price as a 12 pack of sensor swabs, I'd give it a try. The fact that it's reusable is a big plus for me. If I can get at least 4 to 5 cleans out of it, I'll be on par with the sensor swabs. Any more will be a win.

Well, if this is what they use at the Leica factory, it should be good enough for me...

But being a little inventive, I'll try to find some of that material and mount it on a stick. I find that $40 for a bit of gel is a marketing trick to me. The box or packaging it comes in is probably worth more than the gel square itself.

But that's me. Sometimes I'll try to pinch pennies on something like this where I'll just go and buy that 4th camera body in a minute...

Well, this supply of sensor sticks were gone within 3 hrs of the posting. Nasim is taking pre-orders for the next set so if you had any inclining of picking one up, I'd suggest putting in an order now.
@Marcel, I think that's a great idea but you might consider getting an original in hand before you attempt to mimic one. In theory, this sensor stick could last several years, assuming normal use patterns, and would make the initial $40 investment seem very reasonable. But we'll see. I'll report my findings and give a full review when it arrives.

Thanks Dave. I'm actually good for now since I haven't been using the D600 that much lately. I'm using more manual focus AIS lenses and I have a micro prism focusing screen on my D700. So the 600 stays pretty much clean. But I remember buying a pad to hold my iPhone on the car's dash that reminder me of this cleaning stick... I might cut a little square and give it a trial. Can't blame a guy for trying can you. If it works, I can make a bundle selling little squares at $25/ piece. ;) Just joking though. I'd sell them for a lot more ;)
