I have a Nikon D5100 + SB700 and I'm looking into buying pocketwizards to use my SB700 off camera, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Pocket Wizards are very capable RF transmitters but they are also rather expensive for what they are. I have two sets of RF transmitters/receivers; one set for the stuidio strobes and another set for the SLR/DSLR (they have different PC male diameters). I went to Fleabay and found a set with a transmitter and 2 or 4 (Studio) transmitters for less than $50. They work very well out to past 100 feet and through walls (used for interior photography). Before I sunk over a hundred bucks on Pocket Wizards, look at a cheaper alternative. The sets I have are also very small compared to that huge transmitter with the Pocket Wizard

Thank STM!
Will look into other cheaper alternatives...It just seems hard to find transmitters that is compatible with SB700 & Nikon D5100 :(.
I guess I just need to do more research :)

Now keep in mind I use Sunpak 544's (old handle mount) strobes on full manual and adjust fill ratios manually based on flash meter readings (I usually don't want more than 20% contribution by the flash) . If you are looking to maintain some automation with your strobes, than the triggers I use will not do you any good.

Has anyone seen the latest offering from PocketWizard - the PlusX?

Pocketwizard® - Wireless transmitters and receivers

I'm only beginning to look into external lighting. Seems like this is a more cost effective alternative?
