Just checked some of the prices for a D600 from the authorised resellers following that link.
They are around $700 more than from the online stores here in Australia, even with the trade-in, you are looking at shelling out $550 more.
Thats a lot more to pay for the peace of mind of having the proper Nikon warranty.

Ouch! That's not cool. Why would they think anyone would pay more for a camera that results in the loss of an older camera? That doesn't make any sense. Not only that but if you buy it on-line from an authorized dealer it will automatically come with a full Nikon warranty. I don't get it...

Just to clarify my last post Dave. The online stores are selling grey-market models, and come with a warranty from that store, not a genuine Nikon warranty.
So the trade-off for saving the $600 is you run the gauntlet with the stores own warranty. OK if you get a good sample, but maybe not so good if you get a Friday Lemon.
