Posting images to share

Just a personal observation, wondering what others think,

I do not like going to other sites to view images members want to share. Some folks want to direct us to flickr or a personal site to view a specific shot which they are talking about . If you want to share an image, please share it here! I'm not opposed to checking out others sites, certainly I want people to see mine too, but I don't direct people to my site.

I think ultimately, fewer people will view your image, I just go past those types of posts now.

I tend to agree. I have, on the other hand, recommended this site to a few Flickr members of Nikon groups that this site might be a place to share their abilities.

I agree, Rick. I'd rather just stay here . . . I really dislike flickr ... the whole presentation/landing page is just so cluttered. I think it's fine to include a link in the signature, but if I want to share a photo, even though it's already posted on my blog sites, I'll repost it here anyway . . . I think it's a matter of courtesy. To me it's like being physically in a gallery and then asking someone to look at your work and saying, "oh, you have to walk across the street because it's over there." lol I guess we've become picky and lazy . . . sigh . . . or maybe just me. IMHO

I don't mind if someone posts a Fickr site link to their photos. After all, if they are proud of their work then show it off.
It doesn't mean I'm going to use it. But having said that, I usually don't link over to Flickr to see anyone's photos.
Unless what they have posted here catches my eye, and I want to see if all their work is of the same quality.

I dont like using the links either.
I only look at photos posted into the thread, if its a link I have to click on to open up another site, I just skip it.
Maybe I am missing out on looking at some great photos, but I find it annoying.
